inflammation fighting papaya & turmeric smoothie
So you probably read the name of this post and thought, "inflammation? What the heck does that have to do with me?"
Let me explain. Most of us think that inflammation is what happens when you sprain your ankle, hit your head or get a mosquito bite. The painful, red swelling, brought on by an outside force, that goes away with heat and ice.
But, there is another kind of inflammation that you might not think about too much because it's your "normal." I'm talking breakouts, headaches, chapped lips, sluggishness and bloating - just to name a few. Sound familiar? Yeah.
This, more common inflammation, begins and ends in our digestive tract, and incorporating anti-inflammatories into your diet, is a great way to regulate your body's reaction to inflammation in a natural, and delicious, way. This smoothie is a good place to start.
This sweet, delicious papaya turmeric smoothie combines the powerful papain enzymes from raw, ripe papaya with the potent anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric - one of the most powerful anti-inflammatories in nature. Combined, these ingredients will have you feeling your best in no time. All in, an easy and healthy way to start your day.
